Back in the early days, when The Vine Garden Plant Outlet was still known as The Vine & Branches, they operated out of a big white semi-permanent tent on the grounds of Family Recreation Park (FRP) near Boonsboro, Maryland. We were impressed by the quality of their plants, and bought nearly everything we weren’t starting from seeds ourselves from them. They approached us about selling our veggies at their roadside stand, but we just weren’t producing enough yet–pun intended!
As we they grew, so did we, and eventually we ended up sharing space. We too went from pop-up tents, to semi-permanent tent, to a small barn on the grounds of the park. When the park sold, we were determined for these two small businesses to stick together through thick and thin, and when we relocated to Middletown, we arrived together.
Even though our brick & mortar closed when the space we were renting in Middletown went up for sale, The Vine and Mid-Maryland Farm Market are still side by side. You’ll find both businesses at the traditional farmers markets in Brunswick, Middletown, and Myersville…plus special events and festivals too!
